Wen says global crisis is far from over

Premier Wen Jiabao says the global financial crisis has not bottomed out yet and its impact is still spreading. His comments came during an internet forum. During a rare online chat, Premier Wen said that efforts by the government to deal with the downturn have seen initial success. China has launched a four-trillion yuan stimulus package to help the economy and unveiled measures to assist key industries hit hard by the downturn.The government aims to reach economic growth of eight percent this year, which is widely seen as a minimum for generating enough jobs for millions of people entering the workforce, but many economists think it could slip below that.
